What is happening to graphics card prices!!! They're all crashing down!

crashing down? just me seeing a £227 graphics card that is overclocked ever so slightly more than a £164 version does? Honestly, you HAVE to be insane to spend £63 more for the same card for a 3% performance bump, as in, completely and utterly insane.

Be thankful the pound is all of a sudden doing so damn well.

It is an 18% overclock though which isn;t acheivable with normal 4890 without altering the volts which some people might not want to do.

Does the 18% overclock only relate to 3% gain in real life?

^^ No when the memory is overlcocked as well, the gains are much higher. There were some reviews posted where it was getting an increase from about 7-18% in certain games (With a card slightly higher clocked than the XFX BE). The thread is somewhere in the Graphics section iirc.

Agreed, overpriced, buy the ordinary 4890 at the great price on Ocuk and clock the socks off it!! :D

pre-overclocked stuff is always overpriced. However some people still don;t like overclocking stuff themselves and would rather have the guaranteed pre-overclocked cards.

Always being the same.

I meant the other cards really, I should have posted in the other thread but to be fair this was the price the stock card was launched at not too long ago.

That's an awesome clock, but I agree with others who say get the stock one and clock it to hell and back! Still reckon the XFX 4870X2 card is top in the value for money stakes at the mo...

I think the premium warranty makes it worth the extra money myself.

It's the best 4890 on the market at the moment. And produced in very small numbers. I believe it is worth the extra few sheets, purely for the facts that it is the best and the resale value will be high.

The biggest problem with this card is that ATi are definitely speed binning GPUs for it. Probably explains why the standard cards are so cheap rather than this card being so expensive!!

So many great offers this week! Has anyone got this card to make a comment on the fan noise?

Due to the high yield of the product they are produced in small numbers and are restricted to 10 or 20 pcs at a time they are hand picked and virtually hand finished, tested and guranteed we haven't had a chance to play with one. However we do have sample on its way for delivery early next week and although I can not test it myself as I am lacking in technical skill I will get one of the team to do a thorough review of this premium product.
