** OcUK FIRST IN EUROPE WITH DDR4!! **

Are we being trolled

i know this is brand spanking new but seriously £666 for 32Gb of ram

seriously

Might be a silly question but is ddr4 at 2400mhz for example any faster then ddr3 at 2400mhz?

I've just had a quick scan but I would say no - it looks to me like the most obvious benefit is a voltage drop.

That's not to say that DDR4 speeds won't outstrip what DDR3 is capable of in the future, though.

I think we'll still see DDR3 around for a while yet. It's going to be a long time before it gets phased out!

yes lack lustre performance from anything much from sandbridge has left the latest gens just looking meh. thats why the prices wont be to silly as most people have what they need already and will for a while yet.

Wanting some of that tasty 2666MHz DDR4 but will obviously wait until CPUs and motherboards are released too. At 239.99 it's just a bit mental.

Yes it will be. The ICs are all smaller process so not only are they lower voltage but the bandwidth will be higher/quicker. Just not sure how much yet...

Damn that stuff is pricey. I still remember paying £40 for my first set of 8GB of ram and then getting identical spec stuff a year later for £60.

Then this stuff comes along and blows those prices out of the water - cost of being an early adopter I suppose.

These although same spec as DDR3 2400 , will have much higher bandwidth in general. I wouldnt be surprised if we saw 80mbs bandwidth scores. :D

Micron, double sided ............ X99 is shaping up isn't it ?

2400 , and moreover, 2133 is plain silly to buy DDR4. Even 2666, you can just purchase a solid ddr3 for that matter.

3000 on the other hand, although we have tons of ddr3 that come even stock at 3000mhz, looks tastier. Until I see DDR4 over 3000 and with reasonable price, I'll refrain from it.
So I should skip Haswell refresh if I have 4770k ,maximus VI impact and 2400mhz ram, right?

Well obviously. It's not rocket science.

Penny pinchers :D

You know it's not a crime to cancel pre orders as well. Some people aren't scared to pick up the phone. I'm pretty sure they get it from the same place I do anyway ;)
