ive just downloaded the client and i put my name in StevenG and ive started folding.. when will i see my name on some lists? and when will i have a sig made for me?

you will appear in the stats as soon as you've returned your first WU and it's been credited (usually happens within an hour of being returned) - then within a day of appearing in the stats one of the sig generators will pick up your stats and you'll be able to get a team stats siggy

ive installed 2 instances of the program in different directories but when i try and open them both one of them closes :S

have you followed the instructions fully?

you need a seperate folder for each client and make sure to start with a fresh console in each rather than setting up one then copying the whole lot over

if you have problems setting up 2 clients then try using the -local flag in the shortcut

also make sure you set the machine IDs to different numbers on the two clients
 
i dont know where the machine id's are. and ive installed the program twice to 2 different directories. shouldnt this work?

oh wait. there are more files in the 1st installation than the 2nd one
 
Are they the console versions of the folding client?

If you have tried to install two GUI versions then that aint gonna work. Either one GUI and one console or two console.

Two console versions are probably better. They will run as services, but you can check on their progress using something like Fahmon. If you are having difficulties you should just remove all F@H clients then take a look at the dual-core guide and start from scratch.

Follow the guide to the letter - it works and it is easy. You would have to be a complete rodney to mess it up :D :p

rite i now have 2 client versions running. with StevenG team 10 one with machine id 1 and one with 2 is this correct?
 
okay can i ask another question?> the client verisons i have running say completed 0 out of 10000000 steps? and theyve stopped there?
 
the log will update periodically - progress is fairly slow even with small WUs
sounds like you've managed to get everything set up alright now though :)


just check task manager and as long as you have two processes called fahcore_xx.exe using 50% each then everything is working fine

edit: WUs are usually split into 100 parts so although it says 1000000 steps or whatever yours is showing you'll only get an update every 1% or 10,000 steps in this example
