Hi all,

This is a bit of a random query...

I currently have some gift vouchers on my OC account that were given to me as gifts.

I've just sold a couple of things in the MM and may sell a couple more and as is usual with me...money that goes into my account just seems to get eaten up in the day to day running of myself, possibly down the pub ;)

So the question is, can I buy an OCUK gift voucher to apply to my own account as a way of banking said money? It's all to go towards a future upgrade of my pc in any case so I can't think of a better place to have it as I will obviously be getting my parts from here.

TIA

James

your asking if you can buy a gift voucher by card, then just apply the code to Ocuk?

Is that not what you have done already but it was bought with someone else card in the first place?

:confused::confused:

A better place to have that money is surely in a bank account and then be disciplined enough to not spend it on booze

Not really - I don't need the money in a bank account. It doesn't pay anything to be in there (already have a full santander 123) and it means it's there when I go for spend time!

If you'd rather lock the money away in an OcUK account in a way that you can't get to if something comes up then I am sure they will have no issue with you purchasing gift vouchers and applying them to your own account.

Cool - I'm talking £100 here. I really won't miss it.

I really hate gift cards.
Money that can only be spent in one place. Its the most infuriating, thoughtless present to get ever.

This is a ridiculous idea, if OcUK go bust you will lose your money. If you keep it in a bank account it will earn interest and will be protected by the government if anything happens to the bank, as well as various other benefits to not having your money tied down to a particular company.

Never bother with gift vouchers unless they are going to be used straight away. Too many companies go into administration and then your vouchers vouchers become worthless.
