OcUK H²Flo Kit Problem

Hey guys,

Just picked up this kit in the hopes of quieting the default intel hsf. Installed no problems and it's firmly attached to the CPU, however when I turn on the system the temperatures reach 95'C. I feel both of the tubes and one of them is warm, the other one is cold. When I feel the radiator it is cold (metal cold). Is there any way of finding out what's wrong?

Sounds like the pump is not working, have you plugged it in?

It is plugged in, and I have tried it in both the CPU fan socket, and the 'system' fan socket. Bios reports an RPM of about 4500 and I do hear some water whirring sound when I turn the computer on.

Is the block making good contact with cpu? Thats the only other possibility , or faulty temp readings.

a kink in one of the pipes? or maybe an air lock?

Well I'm pretty certain the block is making good contact - After having this problem initially I took it off and tried reapplying the paste - the copper underside was blistering hot but as I said one of the tubes was warm and the radiator was cold.

Pretty sure the temperature readings are right as they were right beforehand.

walk us through your loop or post a pic,

e.g. PUMP > GPU > CPU > RAD > RES

sounds like something is majorly wrong with the setup.

Make sure you dont have an overclock on it at the moment until you can verify the watercooling is working

If you touch the tubes, can you feel a slight vibration/something moving?

@stulid Well when you say vibrations, how hard?

I can't really feel anything from the tubes though.

Perhaps a daft question but you have put a fan on it to cool the rad havent you?

Well initially yes.. When I started having problems I remove the fan so I could touch the radiator - and as I said it's really cold. Don't really thing having a fan there is doing anything tbh.

yes, for a 120 rad definitely.

If you haven't done so already, set up an RMA. 95 isn't normal at all.

EDIT: just to check, you have plugged it in right? (molex)

Uses a 3-pin which is plugged in, yes.

No, the fan is my own 120mm, which uses a molex connector.

The unit itself uses a 3-pin to power it.

would another fan work in the 3 pin header the pump is connected to?

Just to make sure it isn't the header that's faulty

3 pin powers the built in pump and then the rad needs to be cooled by a separate fan.

If you sure good contacts been made on the CPU then it does sound faulty.

Well I have used the CPU header before any was having the same issue before I swapped to the other 3 pin header.

But just to be certain before I RMA - the radiator should get warm, should it not?

I can't remember the rad on the H50 that I used to have get warm. Can't say I ran it without a fan though.
