You will be pushed on this day and you will find both your own limits and the cars limits. It is a timed competitive event and you win awards for fastest laps etc.

If we can get circa 8-12 people to come along we will get our own OcUK team, own bus etc, if we don't get this amount of people we shall be with none OcUK members as well, not that it makes any difference.

Yes this is a lot of money, but you will get to drive some truly epic track focused cars, you will get professional tuition and learn a lot, it really is the best possible track event you can do, nothing will make you grin more.

Due to the nature of this, if your putting your name down its because you are going to turn up and would have paid in full by 30th September.

Anyone who definetely wants to go needs to email myself:-
[email protected]

I shall email you documents to fill in and give you contact details of the person you need to book with and pay at PalmerSport to get the discounted rate. :)

Shame it is such short notice.

were they not taking bookings for next year?

Still if you have the money you won't find a better track day.

I think the next viable date for such an event would be Mayish time, as Palmersport is closed Jan-March so November is best really otherwise its too close to Christmas and starting to get colder.

We could always organise another for next year but sometimes too much notice is a bad thing as you simply forget about things plus more chance or something happening preventing you making the day.

You do have a point.

Don't forget to post your times. You will have a good chance of being fastest of the day on your 2nd time.

I managed to be fastest in the Caterham 7's was well chuffed :D

I was fastest on the day on my first time with approx 50 of us on the Clio CUPS. :D

It's very tempting with the discount but I don't think i've got the experience under my belt to really make the most of a day like this just yet, it's something I think i'd be better served doing in a couple of years time.

If it was more like £350-400 I wouldn't be so worried but £700 is a bit much for me to take the plunge at this point in time!

Thats the whole point, you learn and gain the experience from professionals in a variety of cars. :)

But yes its expensive, but certainly not overpriced. :)

Yep,

You get about 6 laps in each car from memory, Then the Go-karts, The Caterham pursuit (Gibbo and Ad here's looking at you guys :P) The off roading. You get breakfast and lunch (good grub)

Teams leaders are normally pretty women, When not in the car tea and coffee are on hand. You are track side in a suite watching the action, or some sports on TV if you like.

When all is considered compared to other packages it's well worth the money.. You just have to be willing to take the plunge.

Think its about 6 laps yes in the M3, Clio, 911, Westfield etc.

But the Jaguar race cars works out at around 12-16 laps depending on how fast your lapping, I remember in the single seater clocking up around 14 laps or so I think. :)

Its a full on day event, no boring bits. :)

How much does a track day cost you when you factor in fuel, wear and tear ontop of the circuit hire though?

They feed you too and no damage waivered. So go, drive some great car, get some great tips and if it goes wrong no big bills.

Average track day cost is £200, Instructor for an hour £100, add fuel thats £100-£150, then the impact on your tyres and brakes, plus insurance if you take it out and all of a sudden these days are actually quite good value. :)

I'm as sure as I can be that I will be there.

Is the weather likely to suck in November though?

Does not matter, be great if it was wet as these guys will teach you true car control and when it comes to the lighter stuff it don't matter as their cornering ability wet or dry is simply unreal.

Will you be going to a pub or something after?

Yes we could all go to a pub in Bedford to discuss the day and all the trophies we will hopefully win. :D

Those who have emailed me, I shall get back to you later or tomorrow, knackered, been hooning it round Donnington all day. :D

Hi there

Right I've updated the list and emailed all those who have emailed me so far with forms to fill in and contact details for the guy at Palmersport.

If anyone has not recieved these emails let me know and anyone I've missed of the list also let me know please.

Hi Gibbo

Sent a email but did not get a reply. I know I do not post a lot here but can pay straight away if that is the concern and I guess its also a great way to meet some of the community. ( and I imagine lose badly on lap times )

Shall email you necessary documents over tomorrow :)

Hi there

List updated, all documents emailed.

Anyone not recieved an email by midday or who's name is missing of the running list let me know.

All we need now is about 5 more people and we should have enough for a guaranteed Team OcUK with no strangers.

This is how competitive these days are:-
