*****OcUk London Photography Meet WITH STARS!!! November 3rd*****

Well, if anyone wants to nominate next months photo comp as 'self-portrait', it would give us all a chance to practice. The chances of me winning are slim, the chances of one of you winning are higher :p

I'll need to get some info on whether anyone will be at the station I land at leaving from Portsmouth Harbour to Waterloo and perhaps direction.

Yes, I am trainfail101!

Just waiting for a friend who lives in London to see if he is going to tag along for the day.

mrk, what time are you getting to Waterloo, as I will be training it and wouldn't mind walking with another person, as I get lost easily in London if I don't know where I'm going.

Mrk, depending on which station you guys are meeting at, it isn't too hard to get around.

Phate picked Fenchurch St. (not on the tube....)

So I'd recommend, getting on the tube at Waterloo (seeing as you'll be there already :p)
Get on the Jubilee line and head Westbound to Westminster. Then get on the District or Circle Line Eastbound and get off at Tower Hill (could get off at Aldgate, but it would mean you'd have to get on the Circle Line, rather than District or Circle [can be a pain waiting for the right one to come along]).

Then get the S3 out and follow the directions on the phone to Fenchurch St. Station.

For reference:

Is Fenchurch St. Station on GMaps, and Tower Hill station you should be able to see directly SE of the station.

Alternatively, ask someone nice to come meet you at Waterloo :p

(Note that you won't have internet on your phone on the tube - just in case you'd forgotten)

The final option, is get off at Waterloo, and travel on the Jubilee line eastbound to London Bridge station and walk from there, but I wouldn't recommend that a) because you're walking in the opposite direction later in your day, and b) for someone who doesn't know London Bridge station the multiple exits can be a right pain in the butt...

Oh, and don't try walking from Waterloo :p (it's probably a good 40-50 minute walk)

So is it Fenchurch we are meeting at 11am, and breaking up and heading home around 5pm? I'll be getting into Paddington and then tubing it from there.

I should add that if my 1Ds2 is going to be expensive to sort out I'll probably have to drop out. I've also got car service/mot to sort out this month, not to mention my daughters birthday and Christmas on the horizon!

I plan on leaving Portsmouth Harbour at 07:59 to arrive at Waterloo for ~10AM:

Although I can juggle that around I guess if you wanted to meet earlier or later? That would be good actually yeah :D

I'll be buying a return ticket BTW and a day travel card thing to get around on the tubes or whatever, I guess this is all I need to buy?

Edit*
KD just seen your post, cool!

Yeah, just get a day travel card for the tubes.

Depending on where you end up leaving from, I'm sure Phate can give you directions back to Waterloo on the tube (it's not too hard to do anyway)

Circle or metropolitan line to Aldgate. Walk from there.

If you're on the circle line it might be worth going to tower hill and walking from there. Think it might be better signposted as TFL tube map says fenchurch st go to tower hill. But tbh it's not too far from Aldgate and you can just use your phone for directions...

Edit: for all those with PDF readers on their phones

I'd say zone 1 times between stations are between about 2-5 minutes on a train (depending on line). Longer to walk obviously, but for reference I reckon it's 20-30 minutes walking from London bridge to London Liverpool street.

Okay this is a disaster!

--- Z ---, we meet at Waterloo and when I get lost I will not be alone :p

It really isn't hard :p

People who don't know the tube are so cute when they panic about it :)
