How Do :)

I thought it'd be pretty cool as a comparison if everyone ran a quick Geekbench to see how they fair against everyone else... just as a guage for if everything's working correctly and if our macs are punching at the right weight :) (i know they have a comparison online but it'd be nice to have one for for all us OcUK lot :))

I'll start:

MacBook 2.2GHz - 4GB RAM [Result: 2942]

(i pressed submit and copied the resulting URL)

EDIT: yeah sorry should add this is just running the free 32 bit version...

Interesting that your score is higher with Tiger than mine on Leopard.... will have to try a reboot in case.

Hmmm...
even with restart it's only 3088...

Does yours have a 7200rpm drive?
Other than that, it's only the OS and it's interesting that Tiger is quicker...

the hd doesn't matter, afaik geekbench is only looking at overal cpu and memory performance...

3399

MacBook Pro 15", 2.4Ghz, Mac OS X 10.5.1, 4GB RAM, 8600 GT M.

That's with it not being shut down for about a week.

very nice score... that 2.4GHz processor really makes a difference over the macbook's 2.2 doesn't it... its certainly not a linear increase...

wonder if there are any apps to tweak performance...

Think I'm gonna order the 4gb RAM now... Just looked it's only £93.99 inc P&P!!! for 4gb! thats cheap!
yeah i got that stuff... wont increase this score though i dont think as its ram speed more than capacity i think... (thats based on the fact that while running it, i still had about 2.5 gig free ram...)

Standard 160gb 5400rpm drive and was with Mercury/iChat/Skype closed... It's a US MBP (but that shouldn't make any difference!)
