No, you are a desruptive influence and we can't take you anywhere without sending an official letter of apology and a cheque to pay for the broken crockery afterwards

Officially the first member banned from OcUk meets!!! :p

It was quite astonishing the amount of people that turned up at Liverpool and one thing that I always find incredible is the distance that people are prepared to go for these meets. The OCuK meets are unique.

It’s good that so many people are attending the meets. It’s great meeting new people, putting names to faces etc but on the other hand it’s all too much and I can’t remember who I spoke to or not.

The other thing to, and some thing for meet virgins to consider, is that your perception of the forums changes after you actually start to meet people. Can’t put my finger on it.. Maybe it’s just things become a little more personal and the animosity goes. Don’t know what the others think about this?

Agreed 100%. You start putting a personality to a person's posts as well, and you can imagine them actually saying the things you're reading, which gives the forum a completely new dimension. You also start looking at people as friends instead of words on a screen, which also makes it a nicer place to be as you're chatting with mates.

definitely. one of the first revelations i had was how people intend things to sound. now i imagine the people i've met saying the things they post...it's kinda weird i guess, but i enjoy the forums so much more after meeting even such a tiny portion of the community. probably one reason that i cant wait to go again.

great post Huddy :)

Hehe I read this as above :D

I am still a meet virgin though I am meeting up with a few in London this Saturday (4th March) from the Photography forum.

I will one of these days, get my old beer trousers from the wardrobe and don them. However, I do need to pluck up courage, 1) Ask the wife and 2) Be ready for the hangover!

I'm not a big drinker (4 pints and I'm anybodies nowadays!) or night clubber (they don't play music like they used to!) anymore so will I feel out of place? I can bowl though!! :D

Yet more excuses :o

Neither Stan nor Haly drive and yet they manage to make it right across the country to meets. If you really want to get there then you can :)

There was one last year in August iirc but it was the week after OMGWTFLOLBBQ so not many of us went.

I drive but i have to leave the family car at home.. I manage, even if i have to scrounge a lift. As Desmo says, people manage.. Depends on how determined you are..
