Alton Towers Hotel/Splash Landings Hotel aren't cheap (though not so bad if you can convince six people to share a room) and they can be somewhat challenging to get to on public transport (not impossible, admittedly). Good for a small meet but not so good for a big one (IMO).

Hehe, yes there were some challenges there :D

Good food though, theres a very nice Indian restaurant in Highly-Toxic-tor

If it was Manchester it'd be kinda central for everyone, even us scots could probably make it to Manchester and the south englanders could also make it.

Meets tend to be expensive enough that I wouldn't really be able to consider AT - plus the fact (as mentioned) it's hard to get to. :(

My favs out of that list would be Newcastle (obviously since it's home), Leeds (been told it's a good night out), Manchester (not too hard to get to / pretty central) or Bristol (good friends and has an airport). :)

Come all stay @ Dangerous' :D

Woo!

Alton Towers can work out really cheap if you know what you're doing ;)

If this goes ahead I will probably be able to get us all a deal, if not then I know how and where to get discounts anyway ;)

edit: I would choose Manchester if not Alton

Brum for me :). I Live in liverpool, but brum suits me (can crash with the folks), and I would imagine it would be quite central with respect to train and motorway, as fox said.

Either way it sounds good :).

Alton towers - Simple awesome
Manchester - Lovely city :D Also very easy to get to our Piccadilly pro station

We need somewhere where we can allll crash, so we can be up all night, having a laugh, talking etc..

Mancs summin like 50 miles form me, im in bradford so it aint that far, leeds would be awsome, class footy team, same for rugby, close to most places, huge train station, lotsa night clubs, hundreds of hotels. Infact, i would say leeds, just due to the mass of hotels in the city, wouldnt have a problem getting the whole 8k active members on there to be honest.

I once travelled 600 miles for a meet. In my opinion it's not about the distance more about how easy it is to get to places. It's also a bonus if the place you are visiting is a 'nice' place so it's not too rough and has lots to see for the daytime part of the meet.

Doesn't seem to be an option :( as much as i'd love an Edinburgh meet, or a meet i don't need to travel 3+ hours to get to i understand that i am a minority and that even though Scotland is obviously the best place in the universe it is a long way up.
