OcUK Poker Thread.

Nicely done!

Beats like this reminded me why I stopped playing in the first place. Had AA and KK both cracked wihin half an hour.

AA vs 77, he flops a 7.
AA vs 87, he makes a flush
KK vs JJ, J on flop
KK vs 55, 5 on flop.

The KK vs JJ one got me especially. I raise UTG to .75, he re-pops to to 2.50, I re-pop it again to 7 (only had a 20 or so stack at the table). QJ4 flop, he bets 8 on the flop, and I put him on AQ hitting his Q at best and the rest is history.

Bad flops when you have high pockets are what always annoys me, and I very rarely get annoyed at anything. Had KK and was on the button, raised the blind and had 2 calls. Flop came down as Q 10 7, and the other 2 check, so I raised again, and they both call. Turn came down as 4 and they both check again, so I went all in, and they both call. Turns out one had Q 10, and the other 77. For about 2 seconds I was livid, but then the river came down and gave me a flush, so all was well.

Been down DTD tonight, I did nothing (33rd out of 131) but my brother final tabled again

anyway my brother has about 6 x BB so ships the lot with 77 from button

he gets snap called by BB who has AA

flop is dealt 1 card at a time

4

7 ooooh from folks watching

A wow

turn

7 - place erupts

floor puts a tannoy out for "box of tissues to table 0"

river

J

as was said at the time if this was online everyone would scream "FIX"

C'mon Rotty, share your poker secret..which program do you use to see other people's cards online? :p

But really..you do very well in online SnG's..im the opposite...don't seem to do well in them...but cash tables are like candy from a baby..

What would you recommend to someone to improve their online SnG gameplay? Read a book? Practice? Watch how other people play?

she was ****ed so just laughed :)

Good one her , i'm not ashamed to say thats the one of the main reasons I gave up poker on a serious side , I couldn't hack the bad beats and down turns on my bank roll , even though my stats showed a postive tread over 100000's of hands. Still there you go its still a great game.

Never did get to D till D in nottingham no dount a good thing :p

Play small ball early on, take pots that are there for taking but don't get involved in marginal stuff and races when you don't have too

Later on become much more aggressive putting people to decisions to put their tounamament life on the line

Been a while since I last played. Really need to get back into it.

Once I'm settled in my new place I'll pick it up again and try to pay the mortgage off! ;)

Can never work out the folks that think it is a good tactic to raise all in every hand heads up

this bloke was like that

so easy

I might be an eejit, but twice now I've been knocked out on Pokerstars with a flush vs. three of a kind, but any poker rule literature I can find states that a flush beats three? Am I wrong?

you aren't wrong in that a flush beats three of a kind but you are wrong somewhere

my guess is that they had a full house
