OcUK Poker Thread.

I think I'm now going to quit online poker. The only time I think I'll bother playing is maybe some WSOP qualifiers, but I'm sick of this fixed bs.

At least 5 times I've got my money in with FAR the best hand tonight, and all have lost.

Q6 vs 55, 2-4-6 flop, 3 turn.
QQ vs Q-10, J-5-4, K, 9.
K7 vs KJ, A-7-9-Q-Q
AA vs A4, 7-5-9-4-4
KT spades, 3 spades on board, no paired board, bet every street after flopping the draw, he shows A2 spades. How can anyone fold that.

As for omaha:

AAJ5, 2 hearts, 2 diamonds.
Flop brings 2 hearts , I flush on the turn but he flopped a set so we're both all in, river pairs the board to give him a full house.

I played on DTD until recently but they changed the s/w and I didn't get on with it so moved over to pokerstars, have to say the amount of huge hands that seem turn up do seem disproportianate

Got the pokerdownthepub national final at DTD next weekend, should be fun

I play abolutely perfectly for an hour, mabye more, after that it becomes booring and i just think the hell with it... all in/ generally rubbish play..

Played in pokerdownthepub national final yesterday

you start with a league format played in over 100 venues with 4000+ people entering

the top folks go through to a number of regional finals, the top 9 from each region go to the national final

so the last 134 played the national final yesterday, after 11hrs I finished 2nd

only downer was that just before the event the gaming commission stuck their oar in and limited the prize fund because the first levels had been played in pubs, I won £1094 but it would have been much more

I lost a $1200 pot with some crazy action last night, wasn't best pleased... CBA to pull out the exact hand from the logs, but roughly it went like this:

9 players, $1/2 blinds, me on the button and acting aggressively for the past hour. The first guy (Player A for purposes of the story) under the gun raises to $7.50, followed by a couple of folds. Player B raises it up to $21. Action folds to Player C who just calls.

At this point, I'm looking down at pot worth $50 with 3 players betting before me and I'm sitting with a pair of aces. Instant all-in for the rest of my stack - roughly $310. I found that all three called... some people would be delighted with that, but unfortunately I can do maths and didn't like it one bit!

Player A shows 78clubs
Player B shows KK
Player C shows QQ

Flop comes down with three meaningless rainbow cards without a club. Turn is a 7. River is an 8 and results at me screaming at player A through my monitor!

Quite how the hell he can call with a raise, call and an all-in shove in front of him is beyond me. I can only assume he thought that I was taking the mick and that the other two people would fold, but even then he was getting nowhere near value for money.

Really???? Your equity here is huge relative to what your putting in.

If you didn't like those calls then your probably playing for more money than your comfortable with.

Edit: Sorry just realised the age of this post, but claiming you can do the maths when your logic is so far off the mark really bugs me for some reason.

Unbelieveable play from both of you :o

$175 call after being re-raised $89 on flop with a pair of 9's, luckily he wasn't holding the K.

I guess you two players in that hand are a profitable combination.

Congrats on the $1.5k

Ok, he could have got away from AJ but you can't really put someone on a Q unless you think they're drawing to KQ, but a SHOCKING call on the flop from 7-9.

My god this is horrible, deep in a pokerstars WSOP ME qualifier, 34 left. I'm on 62k, 12k BB and a 1.2k ante :/

Top 14 get at least $220 for a $10 buy in, 1st gets $12,000.

Edit - I'm never telling anyone I'm deep into a tourny again, every time I do, I go out. Pushed with AK suited and ran into KK. What can you do eh.

I couldn't exactly fold that from the button with 3 BB's left could I.

Playing on stars again, 2 x $6 SNG's, managed to get HU against the same guy twice. Every time I raise, he hit the flop, every time HE raised, he hit the flop. I push with AK, he shows A7 and hits a 7. He called my 5x BB raise with 2-9 off (I had A-4) and flopped a set.

Just unreal how one person gets so lucky.

For the record I went out 26th last night, got down to the money about 6 minutes after I went out :/

Lol - just got another one. 7-8-4 all diamond flop, I have AJ with A di. Turn is an Ace, I bet 120 into 200, guy raised 200 more so I put him all in. He shows AA

I might give up for today:

Pushed with QQ on the BB, guy raised to 150, I have 300 more so I push and he calls with J-10 hearts. I say in chat "flush coming." Board: 6-7-8-9-6, 3 hearts. How do these people get rewarded time after time.

3,500 hands in 8 hours..? So you're playing <at least> 4 tables at once? :|

I couldn't do that tbh.

Nicely played as well. I'd never have called a re-raise with AQ, because it's such an over-rated hand!

^ HOW can you possibly shake someone off that hand?

Sure do.

http://www.pokerhandreplays.com/view.php/id/481949

Seems a little ridiculous on his part but he caught me bluffing recently so I tried to play the whole hand as if I was bluffing with air, as opposed to slowplaying and raising suspicion.

Nothing like getting 800 bux in with them drawing completely dead :D

Very nice mate, seemed like little work with that sort of flop and person playing into you.

I've never said this before, but I think someone at my table might know more than he's supposed to.

His play is MEGA suspicious. He never raises, but he checks when someone has a good hand and he knows his is better. There is NO WAY anyone could be this good, calling bluffs with 5th pair, raising people off big draws..

The one that got me was the fact he kept raising in strange positions, only to 3/4x BB and everyone folded. I had AK (he's to my left) on the SB 3 times and he never raised once. Never has the BB defended their blind against his raises. But to my point: I had AJ UTG and limped, he checked his BB. 7-3-3 flop, 3 of us check, 10 turn so i led out with a pot bet, and he calls instantly. 7 river so i bet 2.4k into a 3k pot and he insta calls with 8-8.

Why would such an aggressive player suddenly only check his mid pocket pair?

VERY fishy imo.

He's gone on sitout now, been playing this for 2 and a half hours and he hasn't put a foot wrong.
