OcUK Poker Thread.

yep, was OK though had a fun day though

was sat next to Maria Demetriou all day and had a right laugh, especially when she succeeded in just winning the blinds with flopped quad Aces

I assume it's a compliment when a player of her standard tells me I have been a pain in the arse all day :p

WSOP ME Final Table starts tomorrow at 8pm UK time for those interested.

I'm a heartless sod I am, 3 players left in a $10 SNG, 1 guy disconnected so me and the other guy raced through his blinds, folding to each other and knocking him out, then splitting the cash. :o

Think my HU play needs a little work - played 10 SNG's tonight - 1st, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 6th, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 1st :/

Unlucky Pandion. I was playing a £1/2 live cash game the other week and it brought about a 6 way all in pot.

Remarkably it was AA v KK v QQ v 10 10 v 55 v 66.

Don't ask me why the 5's and 6's were in there :D

Pot was worth at least £2000 and the Aces held up to scoop it all. The kings were mine :(

Any of you play any larger regular tournaments of Pokerstars? How long do they typically last?

Well, knowing how popular PokerStars is, id imagine that they would go on for at least 5/6 hours, but a lot depends on starting stacks, blind times, KO rules etc etc

Any of you play any larger regular tournaments of Pokerstars? How long do they typically last?

Last time I made a final table in a regular tournament, it was 5hrs 55 mins before I was knocked out - 5th out of 1,263. Finished about 20 mins after that, so typically 6 hours I'd say. Bigger tournaments with lots of $$ on the line can last anything up to 12/13/14 hours.

Duhamel against Racener for the WSOP ME bracelet tonight - 189 million plays 30 million. Some sick, sick, sick hands at the final table:

The second victim was also sent packing on a coin flip, albeit an exciting coin flip. Michael Mizrachi's AQ loved the QQ8 flop, but Matthew Jarvis' 99 liked the 9 turn a little bit better. It looked like he'd just saved his tournament life, but the river A gave the pot back to The Grinder and sent Jarvis off in eighth place.

Jason Senti's AK out-flopped Joseph Cheong's 10-10 in a big way as the dealer rolled out KKQ. The turn J was a little sweat for Senti, and the river 9 was a total disaster. Cheong's straight pushed his opponent straight out the door, and Senti collected seventh-place money on his way to the bar.

And this was mine from just now:

Personally put him on a missed AK with his flop bet, hence the raise, was committed to his shove and well..

FT hates me today.

And another one - I'm done for today, this is quite incredible the number of <10% shots beating me today, didnt get it on replay.

K8 BB, cutoff raises min, SB calls, I call.

Flop 88T - cutoff bets pot, SB calls, I raise to 3x, cutoff shoves, Sb folds, I call.

He shows AT - turn brings a T, river 2. Fed up, really am. Played so well lately and this happens :(

Come on then ladies, what do you do here?

Brilliant, another spectacular beat to add to the list.

.10/.25
Me: $27ish
Him: $29ish

UTG+1 I make it 3x with KJc, he makes it 6x. Me = ???, but I take a flop anyway.

Flop K25, 2 clubs. Me = :). I let him lead with $1.50, I pop it to $4.50, he calls.
Turn J. Me = :D. I let him lead again with $4, I come over the top for the lot, he calls. He shows KQ. Dead to 2 Q's.

River? Qh. Of course. Almost predictable FT is. In fact, 4 times that session I correctly predicted his cards, knowing he'd outdone me, and several times what cards would appear on the board. It's quite uncanny,no?

Isn't KJs wayy behind the top end of a competent villains pfr 3b range. I would rather 4b KJs then flat here.. fold > 4b > call!

It depends on the villains preflop 3bet % is. If he's playing with stats of like 50/30 with a pre flop 3bet of like 20% then no, KJ is not behind that much.

But then, of course if the villain has 20/10 with a pre flop 3bet of like 3-5% then yes, behind a lot of the time. But, 4 betting out of position there is a bad play. Personally, I fold to 3 bet or maybe call, never 4 betting there.

yeah course but like if his 3x 3betting then stabs IP for 1/2 his most likely semi-competent with say apporx 6%-12% 3b.

Agreed he probably doesn't fold to the 4bet tho. My point was I would rather fold with KJs as so many combos of Kx that crush us. But IF I wasnt going to fold then i would 4bet instead of calling (depending on reads/more info on villain). at 25nl anyways... at 100nl where players will take a 3bet/5bet line with trash we get in more difficult spots pre but at 25 regfish play very honestly!!
