OcUK Poker Thread.

LOADS of Spanish players on stars suddenly appeared out of the blue, haven't ever seen that many on but they're all doing ridiculous things like this:

Dealt to eldazza18 [6s 6c]
la pujada368: raises 240 to 260
Deudeudeuces: folds
chaaya: folds
eldazza18: calls 250
lyzardos: folds
*** FLOP *** [2c Th 3s]
eldazza18: checks
quiebritos1 is connected
la pujada368: bets 1250 and is all-in
eldazza18: calls 1220 and is all-in
Uncalled bet (30) returned to la pujada368
*** TURN *** [2c Th 3s] [7c]
*** RIVER *** [2c Th 3s 7c] [Ad]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
eldazza18: shows [6s 6c] (a pair of Sixes)
la pujada368: shows [7d As] (two pair, Aces and Sevens)
la pujada368 collected 2980 from pot

All I've had all day is Spanish mugs doing this.

I've just limped in to the money in a tournament on Paddypower. First time i have played on it.
Top 80 get paid and there are 78 left now, were 650ish. Only $5, but it's $2,500 for first place. I don't have much of a stack though.
I have 18,000 with blinds of 800/1600

Not bad as the first i have played in months though

Making up for a cash game i was playing at the same time where i got hit with QQ when some joker called with 44!
(abd my bet of Torres to score 2 against Man Utd, i still can't believe that)

edit- I'm hanging on in there! 48 left now i just got a nice double up

Came 14th. Won $79.

Worst hand i have ever played to go out on as well. Limped in with JJ and let 63D hit a flush draw. i think i let it affect me that the previous hand i had gone all-in preflop with AK and no one called, so i wanted to get some action, as i was shortstacked as well. Very bad play though
I am really gutted but looking back i suppose i did well considering i haven't played in ages.
it's the manner i went out that hurts, i should have just went all-in and i'd probably still be in:(

Not bad considering i haven't played in ages though. I think time away really helps sometimes. Today was the first tournament i have played in about 4 months i think.

Overall impressions of PaddyPower Poker were fairly positive. Seems like a nice community actually. Nice client as well, though i would have liked a feature to notify when it is your turn as occasionally i had another window on top and missed a turn(this might have been an option tbh, i didn't look properly). Most other clients i have used bring the active window to the front.

Well done, 14 / 650 is very good when you analyse it. :)

I enter only play money games atm, though eventually I want to get my feet wet with cash games. I've been using Absolute Poker but recently have started playing more on Poker Stars. My best so far on PS is 77 / 10000. I won 1c. :D

Think I shall be taking a small break from poker, had a horrible time last night when playing a small satellite at the local casino.

Start with 2k chips 25/50 for first hour 50/100 for 2nd hour. unlimited re-buys for first 2 hours.

Few hands in. Pair of jacks on a 8 high flop. Get it all in vs 99. He hits another 9 on the river.

rebuy - 22 on a Q92 flop. Get it all in again, called by Q9. He hits another Queen on the river.

rebuy - QJ, flop is Q85 two clubs on the board. Get it all in vs KJs. He hits the flush on the turn.

About to call it a night but my mate is doing well so he gives me another fiver to stay a bit longer. Get down to the last 10 when I shove short stacked with 99 vs AK. King on the flop.

Ran so bad :(

"Full Tilt Poker and Groupe Bernard Tapie Sign Acquisition Agreement

Dublin, Ireland (September 30, 2011) Laurent Tapie, Managing Director of ‘Groupe Bernard Tapie’ announced today that the group has signed an exclusive agreement with the Board of Directors of Full Tilt Poker to acquire the company and all of its associated assets.

This agreement, which includes the repayment of Full Tilt Poker’s world-wide players in full, is subject to several conditions; the first of which is a favorable resolution with the United States Department of Justice. Discussions with the United States Department of Justice will begin immediately.

‘Groupe Bernard Tapie’ has over 30 years of experience in the salvation of financially distressed businesses, with over 40 companies acquired and managed to profitability, the most well-known being the sport equipment giant, Adidas."

Fingers crossed, hopefully some sort of agreement can be negotiated with the DOJ

Some run good in HUSNGs (all I play at the moment)

I realise by posting this my run good will disappear but it's getting a bit boring winning almost everytime :P

Well done mate.

I want to get back into poker, I would call myself an average player, and stick to SnGs but tempted to try and master HUSNG, you got any tips or books you have read?

I use to love Full tilts rush tourneys, but alas FT has gone now :( I heard Pokerstars are making their own version though so fingers crossed.

There is a book by Colin Moshman which is the best however I'd just stick to the good saved threads on 2+2 and buy a months membership to husng.com and download every video they do (you can keep the videos after your membership has run out).

Quite a gamble bit it paid off :)

I'm playing $20+2 6 max SNG's on bet365 at the mo, 6 in a row wins $30,000 and I've won 3 so far. Half-way there ;)
