I think it's time we started a new thread with current members lifting regularly. I'll keep the old thread on record, so that people can reference to it.

The old thread can be found here:

*** The Rules ***:

  • State your 1RM (one rep max) for the 3 big lifts in Kilos. Preferably using a normal olympic 20kg barbell.
  1. Bench
  2. Squat
  3. Deadlift
  • State your bodyweight in Kilos.
  • If you have less than 250 posts, please post a video if you want to join us on the score board.

Please advise if you use a belt, straps, smith machine and/or any other lifting aids or non standard machinery. If we are not satisfied it counts for this league it will be discounted - however please contribute to the Gym Rats Thread to update us on your progress.

Ideally it would be great if you could post a video of the lift - not for the sake of disbelief or lack of trust, however for the sake of interest of those taking part. This is not mandatory, however I should ask that you are honest about your lifts.

I shall update the league table which is below:

Whoooop top 10 :)

My deadlift was with straps if you want to add the relevant key symbol.

Hopefully have a crack at a new bench 1RM in the next few weeks.

i think you might be segmenting things a bit too much really.
i dont personally class wrist or knee wraps as a lifting aid, more a safety thing. unlike straps / belt or suit, which are definitely aids to lifting.

Im not fussed mate, personally i see wraps (knee and wrist) and my belt as safety gear rather than making the lift easier, however i dont deny that there is a confidence factor when im using them, especially knee wraps. Straps however are definatley an aid imo.

Chalk should be mandatory.. even for cardio :)

Knee & wrist wraps are fine imo.

Straps/Belts/Smith should be the only indicators I think.

Man, I really need to 1RM soon.

Wrist wraps probably aren't worth worrying about but knee wraps certainly are. Anyone that's ever used a decent pair will know they give you quite a big advantage at the bottom of your squat and certainly help you lift more as a result. As for safety, I wouldn't call a bad pair any more safe than your average gym belt.

Edit: Welcome Mark. Haven't seen much of you since my My Protein days ;)

Raoh NS 160 182.5 235 TOTAL: 577.5 [98]

Also kudo's on hitting the 200 league in squat and the 100kg deadlift effort.

I've just come back from injury and feeling in pretty tip top shape... i'll be trying to bust my bench record very soon and go for the infamous 170!

Hit 160kg on bench today! Woot!

Did 170kg, and despite the spotter telling me he didn't touch it, I know he did help a bit. So I'm not counting it.

Updated your totals RaohNS - welcome back! And nice lifting! :D
