Have you joined the steam community yet? I would recommend it. Makes organising things a lot easier. We'll need you in the chat room for the launch anyhow!

Go register for the OcUK community.
Then you can join the chat room a little before 8:30.
The easiest and best way to distribute the IP. As well as the fact that there is a nice little reminder that will pop up at 8:20 if you are on steam :)
 
Strike me crazy but how the hell do you join a steam community beta group, so I can join this chat room? I've setup myself on the beta, have found out how to CREATE a group, but can't for the life of me see a button which requests to join one!

Where can I find this, and what's the exact name of the OcUK Community group?
 
Hmm, this could get me back into CSS, wow is getting a little dull now and was thinking about going back to css but everytime i see a dust2 server i die a little inside
 
i ask again, what is a 100tick server?

I would like to know as well, never understood "tick" as long as my rates are good, dont see much difference ;)

I havent played CSS in a while now, im hooked on DoD at the moment, i suppose i could come back to CSS again, mind if i join server for a game :)

doh i missed it, re-read it and found this

its basically to do with hitboxes and server reg deadsquirrel. With 100 tick its the most accurate and basically what you see in front of you, is almost 100% accurate so when you shoot their elbow, u'll hit their elbow. As you move further down the scale 66 tickrate is pretty accurate, but a shot you think is hitting on your screen may miss the hitboxes just slightly, then down to 33 it could be out a decent bit, couple of mm.

Tickrate - how many regular 'pulses' of updates and adjustments the server makes. If your server is 66 tickrate, it will update 66 times a second (think it's second) etc.

100 tickrate is most accurate if its recieving and sending out enough information, and isnt getting overloaded. 33 is most innaccurate, but requires the least bandwidth and cpu runtime to host properly.

Basically, as long as the server is up to it, and your net connection is up to it, 100tickrate is far more accurate, as it can send and recieve 100 updates to and from the CSS clients each second, if your client is set to send and recieve that many data packets but ofc its more stressful on your line if you set your rates up as such.
 
I was gonna save the IP till just before 8.30, let everyone in the #clanteam channel get it at 8.25, then put it in here and the steam community thing too at 8.30.

Im messing around with the FTP now so any maps u want, tell me now

* 2 things i'd like to know, would you guys want the betting mod on the server? And the knifemod so u can steal players cash if u knife them?
