Incredible work , I'm tempted to go out and get some today and a few stencils!

What's the best "tools" to use to do this?

I used some standard craft knifes a metal spoon. Stencils from standard shopping centres are pants, but you can search around online for a few good free ones.

Id get to the stores quick though as pumpkins are like gold dust this time of year.

Excellent, yeah I noticed my local supermarket was running low on them yesterday - I'd better get my skates on.

Awesome, as many pics as possible Ive always wanted to try a multi shade carving like you have done, that is awesome. I'm assuming your fairy artistic by nature?
