OcUk returns question

My Corsair 650 PSU just went bang on startup, only 7 months old. :mad:

Just tried ringing support but it's constantly engaged, I am sure I remember reading the 7 year warranty is with OcUk & not Corsair, can anyone confirm this before I try OcUk again at 10p a minute
 
most retailers handle warranty issues for 12 months only and after you deal with the manufacturer direct, some companies are an exception though i believe asus have a system where all returns goto the retailer first
 
I have rung OCuk when they are busy, just keep trying and you'll get there.

Or you could go to the forum :)
 
Ive always wondered how many people OCuk have awnsering phones as everytime I call theres a long wait and when they awnser theres no background noise like many other call centers.
 
OcUk reported it tested faulty but now it's going to be sent to Corsair for repair or replacement , could end up waiting weeks now :confused:
I thought the replacement would come direct from OcUk as otherwise I might just as well have sent it to Corsair RMA myself
 
I would email OCuk again that isnt right.

How it should work is that you sent to retailer, retailer either sends you a replacment or a refund (if under x amount of days). Then the retailer would get a credit or a replacement sent to them to replace there stock.

If you had sent it to Corsair you would have been waiting a considerable amount of time as they are a global manufacturer. We however operate a RMA service to our customers to save time and hassle.

We are currently awaiting 650W replacements from Corsair so you will just have to hang on for now, I know its irratating waiting but its the same case anywhere. No retailer in the UK does a straight swap out service.

One did, though they went bust :p Didn't actually have anything to do with that though.

Obviously older things are a different situation if they aren't listed anymore or stocked, and sometimes even if they did replace from stock, no company always has everything in stock anyway so there would still be times you'd have to wait ages even if a company did replace from stock usually. No matter where you buy from or what you need replacing, once in a while you'll be waiting for stock coming on some slow huge cargo ship thats still waiting to leave China. What a world we'd live in if transporters were real, psu dies, swap it out without having to touch anything, awesome :(
