OcUK Rolling Road 9: Photos + Graphs

Personally I would say that the engine power is maybe 10-20bhp high on turbocharged cars from the result my car gave when I had it on there compared to many other people with similar mods on rovertech.

Basic mods (exhaust filter etc) are known to give a good T16 engine 200bhp. Mine span up 224. Id have placed it at 200-210 before I went on there.

And my previous N/A engine made stock power, but it was shafted and leaked loads of oil!

But then it doesnt really matter as you can only compare the rolling road to itself.

I didn't mean to cause any conflict. I had genuinely not noticed the loltastic whp figures until I ran on a Dynojet.

Your engine figures are completely different on the DynoJet and the MaHa. ;)

~180 MaHa
~160 DynoJet

EDIT: Wait...DynoJet doesn't show engine...:p

You haven't caused conflict mate, you didn't come in screaming all hell that the rollers are shoddy and completely incorrect. ;)

Dastek Rollers

vs

Powerstation

Only differances between the 2 runs are Tyres and LSD... From what Nokin said on the day the tyres (r888) will increase the drag... Is that alone enough to account for the major wbhp differances? Both types of rollers used 2 contact patches.

Also the actually graphs themselves are quite differant, the Dastek shows a huge dip before vtec kicks in yo!! , whereas the Powerstation levels off but doesnt actually drop away.

How is it the graphs are so different after a few runs, the blue graph is :\

Some people go on a dyno dynamics rolling road and come away unhappy because there 400bhp monster is only 350bhp. Truth hurts ;)

If that was aimed at me it's misplaced. The only reason I went to the 2 rolling road events was to support MTorque and the rollers at TMS are from DD and have had much the same critacisms from others in the same way you are aiming them at Powerstation. I've never been near a RR at any other time and I knew my RS4 was not pulling Audi's claimed numbers by the way it went, none of them ever have but it gave me a mark in the sand from where to approach Audi. My GT3 was actually over the numbers on the same RR but then most GT3's are. I'd have been annoyed if most RS4's were 410bhp but the fact is most are 360-380bhp so mine is infact normal. No wheel dyno is going to be 100% and the gaps and variables depend on MANY factors.

Wasnt aimed at you at all mate i dont know you or your car it was a general statement.

A lot of people are unhappy with dyno dynamics because its always lower than expected whereas people come away from a maha rolling road chuffed to bits because their car is 20bhp or more above what they thought it was :)

Well many people think the DD at TMS is a bit optimistic too, so its not just down to the machine.....and that means my RS4 is even closer to the S4 :(

Dastek graph is the one to go by mate it mimics how a type r engine works.

Torque drops off massively before vtec engages, powerstation shows it as being smooth which a type r engine isnt.

It also says max attained rpm is 8295.

Again thats funny because an ep3 redlines at 8000rpm

Overlaid the Engine BHP from both graphs, adjusted the scales to match, more or less... there is definately a lot of differance between the two systems.

dynovsdyno.jpg

Im not overall concerned, it just means after i get my mods done, ill re-run it on either of the two systems and have a benchmark to compare it against.

What is apparent is the top line figures, 214.6bhp & 141.6lb/ft vs 202.8bhp & 138.1lb/ft (not huge differances +6% bhp & +3% lb/ft)

guys you have to realize dyno's like this are just really comparitive tools for before and after during tuning / remapping.

chucking a car on a random dyno tells you nothing at all other than what your car reads on that dyno..

if your car gets pretty much the manu's claim though with no mods then you can guess that the dyno is chucking out semi accurate figures...
