OcUK Rolling Road 9: Photos + Graphs

Oh FFS, just leave the thread, seriously, I'm all for opinions, but to just constantly bash a company and say it's all completely wrong is not on.

Fine, you don't believe it, get over yourself and get out the thread.

What you are saying is EVERYONE is seriously under powered, which is bull, most people have hit stock or thereabouts with their standard cars, ST220s are KNOWN to get in excess of stock power even at standard. As for the modified ones, they've all seen pretty much what they were expecting too, so how you can say they are wrong I don't know.

And no, I don't want a high horse Dyno Dynamics rave about this post, we get it, you don't like Powerstation, move on.

WE GET IT, you don't like the rollers.

Powerstation are a good company the fault lies with the maha rolling road and how it calculates losses.

Freedom of speech and all that dont drop the dummy

I haven't dropped a dummy, just it really narks me when someone comes into a thread, completely ignores everything that's said and goes on a power trip about how everything is incorrect, when it clearly isn't.

So the engine power looks ok, but is there an option on the Maha roller to give a more accurate whp figure? ie. simulate only 1 contact patch or something?

No, not that I'm aware of, short of parking the car on top of one roller...but that would still be incorrect due to it being a small contact patch, although it'd be more accurate WHP figure than with the 2 contact patches.

EDIT: Tim, you've been many times before, surely you knew this before? :)

I didn't mean to cause any conflict. I had genuinely not noticed the loltastic whp figures until I ran on a Dynojet.

Your engine figures are completely different on the DynoJet and the MaHa. ;)

~180 MaHa
~160 DynoJet

EDIT: Wait...DynoJet doesn't show engine...:p

You haven't caused conflict mate, you didn't come in screaming all hell that the rollers are shoddy and completely incorrect. ;)

Unfortunately some people don't take part in things and instead just keyboard worrier bitch about everything.

The fact we had multiple cars running meant we ended up with a good view as to how accurate the dyno was being.

As my car was first up I saw the figure and assumed the rollers were doing what a lot of people say, and reading far too high, but then more and more cars ran and it showed that it was in fact reading about right.

Again I have to say thanks Andy, was a good day and gave everyone a decent idea as to what their car is running (which is in essence all a dyno can do anyway). :)

Is this the OcUK Jeans Enthusiast meeting?

I think I was one of the only ones not in jeans, and was the ONLY one in shorts. :)

 I see a NINJA!

Any talk of when the next RR is? I will bring the zed as it will be on the road soon, after a long list of stuff going on with it this month (:D)

We'll be looking at sorting the next one for late August I think, although I think the organisation of it is going to be changed a bit to avoid having so many drop outs and ensure all the cash is there for the runs as it was sketchy on Sat.

Absolutely! It looks fantastic mate, S2000s have massively grown on me this year, real shame Honda have bottled making proper drivers cars now.

And the 106D is quality! Looks like you all had a great time.
The accuracy of rollers discussion that follows is always entertaining! :P

Happens every time too. You'd have thought that it'd be given a rest after a few. :/

I'm hoping to get another sorted for the end of August so we can go back to 2 a year. Although it all depends on how many people would like one then, as if I'm organising it there are going to be some changes to the way it's run to ensure there aren't drop outs, or if there are it's not such a big issue.

The thing about the figures is it's impossible to get an identical one, no engine is going to be 100% identical to another, especially after a few years so figures will vary, some for the good, some for the bad. But yeah, we all know the ATW figures are incorrect.

A small deposit would be the best idea. If the person turns up then it's taken off the amount payable for the run and if the person doesn't show, donate it to a charity for kittens and baby seals :)

This is what I'd be doing if it is me that organises it. May just put the money towards drinks at the pub. :p
