OCUK Rolling Road Day 11 @ Eurospec (Guildford) - Sat 19th March 2011

Just us two or do we have others? (Not looking forward to maintaining EVO pace if it is just us :D )

It's ok, I drive like a grandad for the most part ;)

My mate is coming too but undecided as to whether to bring his S14 or not. Don't think Skywalker is coming and Maxeh has been quiet this time round (not that he came to the last two when he said he would :p)

Roll call: Alexisonfire and Scary Squirrel.

What are you driving Concrete?

Why is it raining? :(

I'll be driving a rusty black E36 estate :D pimpin' yo!

FFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

Driving to work today, went to go from second to third and felt a 'crack' in the gearstick and it went completely loose, and was stuck in second. The welds on the selector bracket at the gearbox end had broke :(

Anyway I've had a quick repair weld done and it seems to have done the trick, but it's difficult to get to and hard to tell if it's got any decent penetration. Not sure it'll hold up for a 200+ mile round trip :(

****ing typical, sods law at it's finest

Half tempted to risk it, but knowing my luck I'd get stranded :(

I'm coming but making my own way up a little later, gotta prepare the car for a trackday the next day, and also do some other stuff in the morning. Max is stuck in Uni atm so he won't grace you with his presence.

The mk2 turnout is down to 2 :(

I'm not beat yet, I'm going to see what I can do to sure it up some more. It seems nice and solid, but I'm just concerned incase the welds havent penetrated enough.

100 mile trip from Bristol then back, if you do it the M4 way surely it'll just be sat in top for 80% of the journey? It'll be boring as sin but it'll hard stress the selector as you won't be changing gears much i'd have thought.

Good point actually, the majority of the journey will be just sat on the M4.

I'll decide in the morning if I'm going to risk it. If I do come it'll be mid-late morning when I get there, I'm not going to have a chance to wash the car tonight so I'll give it a once over in the morning before I leave.
