does anyone else think OcUK should have RSS feeds?

I'd love it if the news feed on the main site has RSS - it would be perfect for some of us OcUK addicts...

I agree it would be useful. I have quite a few feeds on my phone which are updated every 4 hours automatically - Custom PC, Reg Hardware and The Inquirer.

Yeah - i use RSS like crazy, its just a bit disappointed that OcUK is probably the only site i use heavily that doesnt have RSS feeds

What are RSS feeds exactly? I've only seen some on news site where it updates like with latest news headlines every so often. Would it be just your phone gets updated with latest threads?

Imagine an e-mail for every time the site gets updated (i.e. new products, etc.) and that's basically it.

most feeds don't even update that much, the frequency of the updates isn't relevant to its usefulness.

rss feeds are rubbish. 99% of the time they tell you things you already know or arent interested in. totally pointless for a forum imo

thats a little biased, i use RSS really heavily, for example last week i was made redundant, since then a single RSS feed has brought me 500 new jobs. i also have several others that tell me things such as new driver and software releases, new games etc.

And i wasnt necessarily talking about the forum, i'd most like to see it on the news page on the main site.

I use it a lot on my google homepage, if you set up personalised google I can hit my home button to google and see all my rss feeds from various sites, basically its infro from sites without you having to visit them, so I can get a snapshot of loads of sites and see if theres anything that takes my interest.

For example you can add the digg rss feed and when I hit my home button I get info on the latest news stories from digg.

Theres too many posts happen on here to be using RSS Feeds. Any important changes or jobs e.t.c would be good though!

again, i wasn't pushing for RSS on the forum. i was talking about the news feed on the main site.

well i see there is an rss feed now! excellent... but it seems each time its updated the whole feed gets renewed so feedreader keeps saying i have around 300 unread articles from ocuk!
