Looked at the Computerbase.de review and wanted to hover-over to see how it compares to the 6500 XT, then remembered CB still haven't been given a review sample!

Anyway, seems to be nearly 35% to 50% faster, plus no crazy decisions like the x4 PCIe slot, or lack of media encoders.

Hadn't realised this was using GA106 same as the non-Ti 3060.

IF this settles anywhere near MSRP, then the 6500XT really needs to be £130 or so.

Also twice the VRAM.

Gibbo said they won't have any initially at that price but a placeholder is there at £299.

Again,as I have mentioned many times before if you need a new rig,the only way to "easily" get dGPUs at RRP,is getting a prebuilt system apparently.

Who cares, the RX 6500 XT is £200, hardly a princely sum. It's about as fast as a Series S GPU.
AMD will likely do an 8GB version, as I think it probably needs the extra VRAM.

I see reviewers continue with their brain-dead takes, such as:

  • "Even for double the price a 3050 is a better investment than the 6500 XT" - HUB (LOL)
  • The various reviewers not only pushing ultra settings but also turning on HD texture packs vs 6500 XT
  • Continuing to feign ignorance as to what the real price is and pretending like MSRP is real, including amusingly GN who showed a list of MSRP for all 3050 models and didn't think anything suspicious of all models except one for each AIB being >$350, and some >$450. Again not even final retail, but their actual MSRP. - OMEGALUL
Alas, the audience is even dumber so we get what we get.

I think the weirdest thing they are doing is often testing with Ray Tracing on high / ultra. As if this is a thing you would turn on for the RTX 3050 or the RX 6500 XT!

So, TLDR, the RTX 3050 is a decent 1080p card and an OK 1440p card.

84 average FPS at 1080p:

61 FPS average at 1440p:

Decent 1% lows across 12 games too:

88 min FPS at 1080:

62 min FPS at 1440p:

Techspot must have used less demanding games for their review...
