Hi there

Were aware our search has some issues and to help get it functioning perfect could you please post any bad enounters you have here please. :)

If you search for something from the front page it never comes back with any results, however when you're on a product page (CPUs for example) it returns results from every section.

Searching '4770' will return whole systems, bundles, coolers etc. instead of just the CPU.

^ +1

You have to click search twice for it to show a product

Also, if you choose a manufacturer and then sort by price - it resets the manufacturer filter

Homepage: Seach 4770k no results, press enter again and the chip appears.

Happens for everything, you have to enter through twice to get results.

4770k brings up results for 4770 & 4770s as well. Thought the k at the end would filter the results down to that specific chip.

Gibbo, can I be honest? You'd be better off starting from scratch don't allocate your dev time to fixing something. That site has been on here for donkeys years it'd be good to modernize bring the design into this era, and yes it would take a few months and cost a lot of money but it'd be better than throwing money at an old template.

Not search related but ive noticed now and then for the last few weeks that i get hangs when loading pages on the ocuk forums like i go to pc games section it might hand trying to get in there or say im in there and i click on a topic sometimes it just doesnt do anything for a min or two. Used to be fine before this.

I have to agree with Hyburnate on this one Gibbo.

Coming from a dev point of view, a website that is very old is likely to have had tons of devs on it putting their own little code in and knowing what it does, which means any new dev is going to have to work through either a very small amount (making it a very easy job) of code or a load of it, it's impossible to predict how long it would take (also dependant on how the data is stored).

That template is a great template it's been here since Spie started up the web portion (correct me if I'm wrong). I would personally overhaul everything not just the stylesheet, start from scratch with your current devs.

@Skeeter Just speculation here, but after CaseKing bought them out I believe they're running on less powerful servers or perhaps just an increase on traffic.

Edit: Oh and a tip, please use image mapping for the background links, personally when I tab between windows I like to click the window to make sure it's active however everywhere I click on your site is a link, it's like a minefield, white space is good in the right concentration.

I don't agree with this, I really like the look and feel of the website and find it very easy to navigate.

Something I just noticed - can u add a delete button to the shopping basket to remove individual items instead of changing the quantity to zero?

Pretty sure there is a X u can click on web on the site which removes items u know the mini shopping basket thing on the right of the main site in the column?

I agree it looks ok and it's very easy to navigate etc however it all looks a little 2000ey :p

I wanted red items to add to my build. I decided to search 'red' to try and get everything that was red (fans, keyboard, lights, lamps etc) instead i got a timeout error instantly 'No data received'

Probably due to the very vague search keyword, but since this thread was here, thought i'd mention it.

This +1. The site is in need of modernising with a nice clean and fresh UI.

And I know it's been discussed on the forum before, but the forums in need of an upgrade too.
