Had pretty much the same conversation with my postie as well. I'd also ordered some stuff to be delivered so he says to me:

"I've got two parcels for you - one's for *my name* and the other is errrr Sonea Fifer - does she live here too?"

I'm going to be honest here, I don't think anyone should worry about presents not having turned up by at least kind of 16th/17th time.

Mail and post and such means it wouldn't surprise me if people are waiting until then...
