Got a few ideas, though my SS is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in another mystery and then finally shrouded in a puzzle.

Out of interest what's everyone's view on 2nd hand presents, think I've identified a potentially quite cool gift but I could only get it within the price range if I went 2nd hand from ebay. Any thoughts from anyone on that? I'm not sure if it's a bit shoddy. Failing that I have a back up.

Part of my gift is second hand. It's mine, not off ebay or anything, but it fits the bill. If I were to buy new it would blow the budget too far and people will get their knickers in a twist.

Yeah having considered I think I agree, shame I can't get a new one at the same price. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Personally if the person buying me a gift has gone to the lengths to find something that they think i'd really appreciate I wouldn't mind if it was second hand.

Tough one though as I imagine some people might take offence

Reminder to myself :D.

All bits sorted. Got a good list of ideas early on and used a few vouchers to get the bits I think will go down a treat.

I've been toing and froing for the last two weeks and finally decided this weekend and it's all come together. One bit to arrive this week and then it's box, wrap and send!

I always get nervous about buying stuff as always what the person receiving it will think, hope it goes down well.

I think it's a matter of as long as the person has gone out of their way to try and find something and put their mind to it, it's a win.

That's the way I look at it anyway.

Yeh that's true, a good way of looking at it. I've always worried about buying gifts even for family and friends so doing it for someone I only know through the forum has proved tricky (I tried binoculars into their house as well however that proved less useful than I thought it would be).

I thought we all had to deliver via chimney by hand?
I hope so, otherwise my chimney scaling classes would have been all for nothing.
