I'm tempted by this. Not done anything like this before. How does it work? We get sent a username we need to buy for?

yes, then in the early hours of 25th of December the 'un-wrap' thread will be started,
this is where people find out who bought for them, and to post pictures of what they received,
my advise there is to open your pressie/pressies before you view and post in the un-wrap thread, but thats entirely up to you

its worth adding some stuff to your wishlist so people can see the kinda things you like,
consider it as giving your secret santa some extra clues so you stand a better chance of getting a pressie or two thats worth having

Oh I’m so excited just because the draw is taking place today.

the draw will be very late tonight/tomorrow,
once sign up closes at midnight i have to finalise the draw restrictions so nobody has to buy for the same person they have bought for in a previous SS, this involves cross referencing about 10 previous secret santas
i should be hitting the 'draw names' button shortly after midnight as long as im awake
