OcUK Silentmaxx are they worth it ?

Hi all
i am thinking about getting a OcUK Silentmaxx case .as the sound from my raptor is getting to me a little .so what i am asking is .are they worth the money and will it cut down the sound from my raptor without it over heating .

I have one for my 74gb Raptor and am more than happy with it. It eliminates the annoying crunching noise of the drive and can now barely be heard. I did not see any increase in temperature, currently at 33c but it is very hot outside/in the room. The only problem is that my other storage drive, a Maxtor Diamondmax, annoys the hell out of me as it is much louder than the Raptor, I will have to get another Silentmaxx I think

I was considering buying a silencing enclosure for my raptor but ended up suspending them it sewing elastic in a spare 5.25" drive bays. Works like a charm and i can't hear a thing. Much cheaper than the enclosure :cool:

If it's rattling then just mount it on rubber gromits. If it's the motor noise / overheating then get the silentmaxx. I've got one on my Raptor 74 and it does the job

Got one for my 150gig raptor and its now silent.worth every penny imo

The only problem i have with them is that with 3 of them, my case is now VERY heavy

otherwise they're great
