***OCUK Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Tournament***

I really enjoy this game. I don't want to be the best, I don't even want to be above average, but Jesus Christ!!
Granted I haven't played in a long time, but I've put quite a bit of time in lately and the fact I'm not even remotely competitively is driving me nuts!!!

I don't want to give it up, but when I'm playing people on here I feel like I'm wasting both our time!!
 
Chris it's all about learning from your mistakes, practicing and gaining experience in the matchup.

We can have some online sessions and work on what you need to do to improve, I'm sure most of us will be willing to help as we all want to our game

I have played you a few times over last couple days mate 'kreusa' and you arent bad. I think the issue is you are picking 'cool' characters over decent ones to start with. Abel is a mixup character that relies on his rolls and step kick to mix up on wakeup which is not beginner friendly. Also his main bnb has a 1 frame link in it.

Gouken is not meant to be played aggressively either hes a zoner and has bad wakeup options. I would suggest you pick a shoto or a charge character while you are learning to footsie. Ryu is never a bad option? Evil ryu if you want some flashy combos :)

Anyway dont be put off, i am still rubbish and have played for years but i am definitely better than i was so i just keep going. I dont really play enough to improve a lot but i love the fact its a challenge for me.

Afraid not sorry, other than a few Tournaments they used to do at HMV in Manchester when SF4 first came out.

IMO its pretty rubbish. Played less than 4 hours and already getting bored of it, wish I didn't buy it now tbh
 
Right boys, cheers for the advise above. Sorry for taking the thread OT!!

I'll be around quite a bit over the next few days so I'll be practicing the crap out of Gouken and furiously googling. On the above advice I'll give Ryu and his Dodgy evil half a bash too. Maybe some Guile??

I'll be around again this evening if anyone fancies some tune up games before their league games or just for some casuals in general...

Only got Shuzzbut left to play but never seem to be on at the same time :(
 
Lets try and get this done by Friday.

I know Zid said he'd be on and off for a bit, so lets just see what happens come Friday.

If anything we'll have to go on results so far, and try and continue on from there.
