I don't know if I'm just being thick, but I can't find the "Update Tablet" option - it's not in the usual place.

Still, never mind if we don't get JB, still worth the £90 IMO :D
 
so the ocuk tablets are so so then??

ive had the 2 tablets in my sig brought else where 2 weeks ago and although good, they had faults, now im tabletless lol, so in the market for another, im not bothered on brands aslong as the specs good and it works..

the Arnova tablets i find really good, the 7H was my first one and £70 on a sale, however after 2 weeks with it apps started to crash and the tablet did and just started being really slow, i found the possible cause to be the fact its meant to have 512mb ram, but actually only 355mb shows on the unit(less than 200mb when using apps and system stuff already on there), so what im told is 157mb was taken for the OS(4.0) which is a shocking amount, then monday after i returned it i brought the 10.1" D model which i found really good, nice screen, nice size, 1gb stated and over 800mb actually showing on the unit which i liked, was 4gb like the 7H, but it had tonnes more apps and some that wasnt compatible on the other, the only reason i returned it was SD card bit was faulty and the wifi kept going on now then(7H was better for this), so instead of another one, i got my money back..

did nearly buy the Acer iconia 210, but dont really want to spend 200 quid and the 7" galaxy Tab2 is out of stock bar tesco, but they charge more, so im keeping my open mind for cheapo tech ;)

Nope, some just have realistic expectations. Sounds to me like you received a faulty unit. It happens, deal with it.

I got 2 of these, one for me and one for my Dad. They both work and, considering what they are, we are pleased with them. Not had any freezing problems and overall I would recommend it if someone was looking for a cheap alternative to a Nexus or iPad Mini.
 
I also have a OcUK Ultima 7 and the screen is the best but upper right part is a bit unresponsive i do not bother about it
It is fast for a 90pound with card it is fast
Battery is bad no kidding bad 2 hours gaming with wifi on but for the price not a problem i use it in the plug at work
And outside with 4 18650 battery better life then an ipad
 
Finally got my tablet today :D Apparently it originally was delivered to the wrong address, hence the hold up.

Anyway, I'm really pleased so far, only 1 dead pixel spotted which I can live with. However, I noticed on the box it say's RAM: 512mb, I've checked the OCUK site and it definitely says 1gb on there. I figured perhaps the box was incorrect, but how can I check the available RAM in Android?
 
Yeh I had a look in settings, but in the end I downloaded a terminal and ran a free command. Definitely not 512mb, so I'm pretty happy.

Have to be honest I was expecting a pretty terrible tablet, considering the price. But I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. I tried running some 40mbps MKVs, ripped from blu-ray, and it ran very smoothly.

The only negative is a slight dent to the back chassis, and 1 dead pixel. But I can live with this!

P.S - Forgot to add battery life is pretty appalling, this isn't a problem for me (I expected it to be bad), but for others it might be an annoyance

In case it's of use to anybody else. I rather stupidly set a pattern lockscreen on my tablet, then forgot the pattern (/facepalm). Anywho, I mashed a few buttons and it appears holding the volume up key during boot up, initiates the recovery process (i.e restore to factory defaults).
 
Just had one these delivered as a belated christmas present for a family member, after setting it up the battery has lasted for just over an hour, and for some reason apps are starting upside down. Have tried resetting but it still does it, would anybody have any suggestions as to what could cause this?

my device though not having that many apps on is giving out of memory messages
