OCUK's money saving tips

Best tip i can give is only Buy things off the End of the aisles & Never buy anything that is down the aisle.
Go to 3 supermarkets using the above & you'll have all you need for about half the price.
Buying loss leaders actually means the supermarket is picking up part of your bill. :D +

i'm with you there. Expensive items such as coffee I always buy in advance when it's on offer. A 200g jar is around £5.88 for known brands but someone somewhere is always selling one for bogof or half price or 100% extra free etc etc. I had my flat for 4 years and spent next to nothing each week/month on shopping in that time. Even weeks before you run out of something expensive such as coffee, always check what offers are on when you go shopping. If you wait untill you run out, and you only shop at one supermarket then you will probably have to pay the £6.

Don't just shop at one supermarket. Take turns of different ones each time you go shopping.

A genuine tip is to not be put off by supermarket 'value' brand items.

*usually* they are exactly the same as the premium brand products but with less marketing/packaging budget.

For instance, tinned tomatos; the tomatoes that go into Tesco's Value are the same tomatoes that go into their more 'luxury' brand. It might be the end of the 'batch' that comes out of the machine but ultimately it's the same tomatoes that go into the machine.

It's the same with many of their items, Rodder's Clotted Cream is another example. Same factory, same cream, different packaging, hugely different price.

I think there is a lot of trial and error involved in that.

DON'T waste money on expensive iPods. Simply think of your favourite tune and I hum it. If you want to "switch tracks", simply think of another song you like and hum that instead.

Avoid parking tickets by leaving your windscreen wipers turned to "fast wipe" whenever you leave your car parked illegally.

If you find it difficult to afford food but find that you get a lot of junk mail, try eating your junk mail.

save on fuel...

A Viz one for you:

Save money on expensive sex lines by sending dirty messages to your landline. The automatic BT text reader will then read back unadulterated filth in her husky female tones.

Do like my millionaire boss does .

Make a cuppa for him & his mrs, use 1 tea bag for both, when finished put on a saucer and re-use for the rest of the day. :(

Not sure that's a good example.

In Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons near me the only clotted cream they sell is Rodder's, there is no other brand or supermarket one.
