One thing which surprised was there was no depth, if that makes sense?

Now that's really odd. Like I mentioned, War Thunder isn't the best implementation, and Hawken still needs a lot of work, but along with iRacing they seem to keep demoing them, when they could be showing off stuff that is just way better.

I guess they're trying to show that commercial games are supporting the Rift, but I don't think they're doing themselves any favors showing off games that have been retrofitted, and done poorly at that.

There should have been quite a realistic sense of depth (and scale). It's more impressive to see when you have thing passing close by/moving towards and away from you. They really should pick better stuff to demo, even if it's community created stuff.
 
In the video doesn't he directly say it's main purpose is media, not gaming like the occulus so is missing a lot of features? I kinda stopped watching there becuse no interest in that :C
