OCZ 120GB Update Failure

Hi

I am trying to update the firmware and secure erase with the ocz toolbox but it says firmware update not supported on windows xp. Secure erase gives me an error saying "Drive security interface frozen, power cycle the drive and restart the toolbox"

Do i really need to update the firmware and secure erase?

shall i just install windows 7 and then update the firmware from windows 7?

any help would be appreciated.

After booting, unplug the power connector from the SSD then plug it back in a minute later. The toolbox should work after this.

ok will try, but don't you need to be in AHCI Mode to update the firmware and driver?

yes you need to be in AHCI mode or it won't work.
