Hi Folks,

Have installed a new 'OCZ Agility 3', 60gb in my computer. It is on a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P motherboard.

Connected to the Intel controller which is the first SATA-3 port on the board.

Everything is up and running sweet as a nut. However went and run 'AS SSD' benchmark to see what the drive is running at.

This software shows 164 / 70.2 Sequential read and write. Thought it should be around 500 read/write or is this software interpreting it different.

Any advice appreciated.

Make sure you're using the white ports shown below.

These are the Intel SATA 3 ports and are the best to use.

You'll never see the maximum advertised speed but using the Intel ports will give the best result.

Thanks for the replys.

I am using the white ports as mentioned and running in ACHI mode within the bios. Set that all up when first installing the drive.

Have noticed that the computer sometimes doesnt boot on startup and sometimes hangs when going into windows. After entering my password the screen goes to desktop and hangs. Cursor works but nothing appears on desktop. Have to do reboot several times to get working desktop.

Seems to me that the new ones are not working properly due to the new firmware. OcUK support are quoting low returns, but I assume these are old figures, not ones from the latest batch.

I asked a question earlier today, as I fancy getting the Vertex 3, but so far no answer from Ace Modder. Though I see he did reply to a older thread after me, so one can only assume they do not want to answer the questions I asked. Which is a shame really, as they have a nice price on the Vertex 3 today :(
