looking at the platinum ddr3 7-7-7-20 stuff, is it good stuff?
as most here seem to recommend patriot or kingston instead?

but it seems to be the lowest latency here?

If only OCZ would adopt black pcbs on all their modules. At times I wonder why green pcb on higher end memory is still in existance with so much focus on aesthetics these days.

But to answer the OP yes OCZ are excellent. Customer service is top notch.

I'm running a set of that memory as is a friend, and it has been fantastic so far. Part of the warranty covers volt-overclocking it to 1600MHz (1.8v) being pretty much guaranteed and no affect on the cover and the possibilty of 1900MHz (1.95v) with no affect on the cover but no guarantee all the packs will be able to sustain that. I can dig out the packaging to check that if you want?

Kingston are by no means bad, Had some of their Hyper-x Range back in the DDR1 days.

But since then I've always used OCZ, No complaints from me awesome company!

Ill further this, had a lot of ddr2 OCZ ram and it was awesome! Went out and got some for several mates pc's as iv never had any problems with it (either have the people who bought it off my in the mm a while back from what i gather)

Only had an issue when setting timings as the TRFC (I think it is) needed to be 54. But a quick trip to their forums sorted that out :) It's been very good stuff.

reasonably good, I have 8GB of OCZ Reaper, although it recently failed and has had to be returned.

and i cant say much for their after sales or customer service, i have sent it back and they are rally dragging their heals, its not been 4 weeks ive been without a computer, and their customer service wont reply, or update my records, and its almost impossible to contact them

mouthy if you are having problems go post in the OCZ forums. The ticket system they use is not that great but if you contact one of the admins through the forums you will get some help.

DDR2 Reaper v1 had a stupid heat sink set-up preventing all 4 slots being used, timings were not compatible with some boards yet other brands worked perfectly, in general it's good stuff but don't be blinded by the love it gets in this thread, it's not significantly better or worse than any of the other major brands.

I tried crucial ram, theyre best selling point is their uk rma centre (because it will fail) corsair is over rated in mho, ive had to many failures with it as well, whereas any ocz ram ive used does what it says on the package, never had to use their rma service because their stuff is that good, it's boringly reliable, stick it in and it works.:)
