I noticed these drives have a few quid off this week.

Has anyone experienced these drives on a AMD 780G chipset?

Would I suffer from the dreaded pauses and errors that plague other intel systems and the like?

(its for my vista media center)

It's impossible to say.

My impression from reading the OCZ forums is you might get them, you might not.

It seems VERY unlikely if you use a cheap hardware RAID card, like a Highpoint RocketRaid with onboard memory. You can get one for ~ £120.

Following through the various tweaks on the OCZ forums also seems to help, although I would go with the hardware RAID card to be sure.

My suspicion is that OCZ are going to be releasing the V3, which should have onboard memory and solve the slow random write problem, so OcUK want to offload the V2 ASAP...

I would give it another year mate prices should dopr quite a bit as its a new technology and you should get more space for your cash, 30 gigs isnt really enough for a vista install...

Yeah, changed my mind, too expensive still, and too much risk of dodgy performance.

I finally set the accoustic settings on my Spinpoint last night, its now quieter.
