Hi

I am pretty sure of the answer already but i thought i better make sure just in case. I got a pretty much setup rig ready to overclock my Opteron :D yes yes i had it for years and it been performing fine but why get this setup if i am running everything at default currently when it could be better

Anyway my query is my memory is this type OCZ PC4000 and it currently on default 200Mhz per channel i take it according to the specs it can go up to 500mhz, which is ie 250Mhz x 2 for Dual Channel?

This obviously changes my calculation when it comes to setting my rig and probably determines how i set this up.

Cheers

Kyo

It will do atleast 250mhz on its stock timings (3-4-3-8), probably a bit more. I had some of it in my Opty rig and it would do ~280mhz.

man shows i bought the kit and never ran it to it potential for the last 2 years !!

what a waste

Thanks Cob i kinda figured that ok did you have to raise the voltage much to get it running at that speed? Mine on around 2.6 which i seen on the manufacturing page runs to 2.75 default?

I think I ran them at 2.8v.

They use a version of Samsumg memory (TCCD chips IIRC) that doesn't really respond much to voltage.

Just trying to get some good timings to start with. Cob what were your tightest timings you got or did you run them on the recommended 3-4-3-8. Mines running at 250 atm with them timings but from the reviews i read that the best you can get the timings on at 250+mhz

It's been a while but I think they did 280mhz at 3-4-4-8 and 2.8v. But that was on an ASUS A8N-SLI, and not on the heaven/hell DFI.

But I ran them 24/7 on a divider at about 245mhz and 3-4-3-8 with my Opty 146 at 2.9ghz.

ok thanks cob kinda guessed that. From most reviews i read that probably the best you can get out of them as they are not great for running at max with tight timings.

Mines are running 3-4-3-7 at default volts (2.6v) and 250mhz per channel (DDR500) as i just left them on auto. So i guess that ok then. Should I really set them manually or does it not make that a difference if their stable.

Hehe it quite good once u get into it. Cheers again mate :D
