Hi Guys,

I bought the OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR2.

My Mobo is SLi Ram compatible.

When I do dual channel it goes through post but does not boot in to windows. I do not OC ram just CPU. I tried all standard setting and still problems. So I decided I try each ram, it turns out I can only boot in one Ram with standard settings. The other one does not boot in to windows?

Is that a faulty ram?

Have you set the voltage correctly in the BIOS? I believe that RAM requires 2.1v -2.4v and your motherboard may only be 1.8v by default.

Thanks for your help Skeme, but I cant even load in to windows with the Ram in order to run mem test, Think am gonna RMA

I had this problem with my 680i board and exactly same ram. Turned out that my bios was 18 revisions out of date. Download new bios an works fine, although im yet to OC them. Custom PC managed to get them to run at over 1200Mhz i remember.

memtest boots off a floppy or CD, no need to go into windows.

personally id run memtest to be sure before i commited to an RMA as the post above illustrates the problem might lie somewhere else..

WOW, did memtest on my old Ram and for 2 hours no errors I put the new OCZ ram and within 2 seconds got storms of errors. So I take it the Ram is faulty.

Oh well RMA I guess. My BIOS is up to date by the way.

Thanks for all your help
