Hi, I have the following ram

It all seems fine other than the fact that if I open up CPU-Z and go to the memory tab it states Single for the Channels #

I have my sticks in slots one and three on the MB.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

Well I'll be damned, seems it needed them in slots 1 and 2? I always thought it was 1 and 3?

Oh well, it's saying it's in dual now.

Usually it's just match the colours with RAM slots. Generally, Intel systems use every other slot to match (so 1+3 and 2+4), and AMD use adjacent slots (so 1+2 and 3+4).

Ah thanks, that would explain it as my last build was an intel and therefore 1 and 3. One odd thing though, is the memory scores a 7.6 in Windows in Single and Dual mode, and also the timings make no difference to the score either.

That's because the algorithm for Windows Experience Index may as well be spinning a bottle in a circle of random numbers and the one it lands on is the score.

Use 3DMark Vantage, or a memory benchmark to see the differences.
