OCZ RMA question

So I am just dealing with OCZ's RMA department and had a question.

My Vertex 2 died after 10 months. To begin with they sent me a replacement drive which died in a single day! I have pressed for a refund from OCZ and they have offered me the cost of the drive not including the VAT I paid.

Do you lot think this is usual or should I press to get the whole cost refunded.
I realise the VAT is a government tax on the sale but the loss of 15 pounds after I already spent 10 pounds returning the first drive disgruntles me.

Thanks

I would push for a full refund - As far as I know product guarantees are for the full amount.
Don't they have to subtract/refund the VAT on their end?

They don't have to give you a full refund.

If you've had use of the product (and you have for 10 months) they're allowed to offer you a partial refund to take account of this.

Maybe that's how they've calculated the amount unless they've specifically said it excludes VAT.

Either way you're not legally entitled to a full refund.

The exact phrasing was:

"After reviewing your receipt, we would like to inform you that we will refund you for a price of $131.28. If it is acceptable please let me know.

84.25 GBP = 131.278 USD British Pound US Dollar 1 GBP = 1.55820 USD 1 USD = 0.641766 GBP"

The price matched the exact amount of the device on the OCUK receipt I sent them without the VAT.

Then query it with them.

Although not legally obliged to do so perhaps they do intend on giving you a full refund but just read the wrong figure from the receipt.
