Hi guys I've been running windows 7 on 2 ocz drives set to raid 0 with no probs for wks until I noticed a error MSG next to one of the drives on boot up, so I removed the duff drive and formatted the 2nd now when I install windows I get the below MSG (see pic) I've used all the setting in bios but cant escape it, if I use a standard drive it's fine, also used different versions of windows but no luck, I can put windows back on as a Rad0 setup and it works but the 2nd drive starts to error so sending that back, any advice thanks.

Hi Crezzlin,

Some thoughts:

Did you break up the array in your BIOS before formatting and reinstalling windows to the one remaining drive? If not this may be causing the issue.

If you have not sent the 'duff' drive back yet, I feel it would be a good idea to give it a secure erase to return the nand to a fresh state (may as well do the other drive at the same time) and then see if the errors still occur following a reinstall of windows - my hunch is they will go away. There is no need to format drives after the SE - windows likes to install onto raw unformatted space.

If you have already sent the 'duff' drive back or you continue to have problems - then break up the original SSD raid in the BIOS, secure erase the 'good' SSD, and then detach all other HDDs for the duration of the windows install to the good SSD - this should get rid of the problem you are seeing.

Hi thanks, I did that to start with but I think it was a combo of that and enable hot swap for the drives in bios, soon as I did hot swap it loads into windows soon as I disable I get to the windows loading screen then same error MSG :) also with the hot swap on raid has no error. Odd but defo done the job. Thanks :)
