I'm getting 6 x OCZ Vertex 4 SATA SSDs. They will be in RAID10 config with a Dell PERC H700 controller (they're going into a Dell server).

What's the general verdict on the OCZ Vertex 4? Is it reliable? Are there any known issues? I like the 5 year warranty and the high random performance. Sequential performance is not too important.

i dont think they have been out long enough for reliability reports

but in performance tests, i think they are roughly on par with the vertex 3's

I was a fan of OCZ, preferring to use their drives in most of our builds. However, they have been plagued with firmware craziness, and even though i have 2 quality rigs with thew Vertex 3 in...... i may well be switching to the Intel 520 for a more reliable build next time round. Speeds are pretty similar i think.
I have recently built a 6-core rig with the Vertex 3 max IOPS, and had no problems though.

I agree for a server this makes sence however i couldnt be happier with mine! :)

Tbh, my vertex 3's haven't really been an issue for my rigs (just others i built), however for raid....hmm....would plump for sturdiness personally, even though you do have raid 10 and have some redundancy.
Hey, as long as they work fine....:)

I'd contact intel directly to ask what the garbage collection on the 520s is like without TRIM (not raid compatible yet).

Intel ssds can have trim run manually via intel ssd toolbox, but at present raid is not supported (won't even open).

If you already have the vertex 4's I'd contact ocz for the same info.
