OCZ Vertex 60GB

Bought one of these from OCUK today.

Firstly the diagnostic report for windows subscore has NOT improved from 5.9... surprisingly.... it says something about not having 1GB of contiguous space....

Also - how do I check what firmware version I have? I would also like some advice regarding whether I should flash to the newest firmwareversion, and how important is, especially if it was shipped with the TRIM update firmwareversion already.

Does anybody from OCUK know if the TRIM-friendly firmware comes shipped with these?

Your system disk may be capable of scoring higher than 5.9. However, the test to determine this requires 1GB of contiguous free space. Try deleting unused files, then running the Disk Defragmenter before re-running the assessment.

This is in device manager - i'm going to assume its shipped with 1.5 and therefore contains the TRIM update. Can OCUK confirm?

Contiguous means touching. So basically it wants 1GB area of the disk to do its tests on. That's why it wants you to defragment, but obviously that won't work due to wear levelling.
