Mine came in a DVD sized case with just a pamphlet, no cables.

mine didnt come with a cable, and it came with firmware version 1.5 (vertex 120gb bought from OcUK around 3 months ago)

1.4 here. I've not yet managed to upgrade ANY SSD firmware via it's CD image, but works like a charm via USB stick, this one was no exception.
