Odd arms - some advice?

Recently I've started noticing one of my upper arms, getting thicker than the other! I believe it's my triceps, as the biceps look pretty equal in size. It's really only noticeable when I tense up, with my arms accross my chest. Or, when I have a certain(tighter) tshirts on, one arm fills up the sleeve nicely, and the other doesn't, with a little space. :p

I decided to give my bigger arm a rest, while continuing to work out the smaller one(I've been using dumbells), but I don't see much difference so far. So, is there any guidelines, or tips anyone could give me for trying to correct the problem?

Whilst on the subject, i'm quite similar. I play A LOT of squash, and as a result i'm pretty sure my right arm is far stronger than my left, and it hinders me a little at the gym. Is it suitable to just train one arm? :/
 
I guess I could try playing one game with my right arm, and one with my left .... :p

Can't see it doing my league position much good mind :(

there should be no need to play with the other hand :P
when in the gym, your playing hand will be stronger than your weaker, so you do weights to match your weaker hand. it will catch up eventually :D

I would have thought they'd both grow, but the bigger arm would always be bigger. Unless you alow the smaller one to catch up.


The smaller one has to put in more effort to lift the same weight, so will effectively be training harder than the larger, and will catch up as a result.

however, i have found the smaller arm is more able to grow and responds better to a weight regime as it has been used little in tasks such as writing, hitting and throwing.

Although my left arm is dominant, my right arm has grown slightly larger (and defined) now and if anything my left arm is now lagging behind in the training..

although I'm no expert, a do believe it is extremely hard to achieve even near perfect symmetry for most people??

but don't worry 99.9% of people will never notice ;)
 
indeed, it would be very rare to find a normal person (ie someone who has not trained specifically for many years) to be symmetrical.
