Hey guys,

Got a bit of an odd issue, not sure if it's boot sector related or hardware related.

The blue coloured system in my signature is still my main rig, it's running a samsung evo pro 840 120gb and 2 x WD blue as storage (1x320gb 1x500gb)

Sometimes when my pc gets shutdown, or I alter something slightly to do with my overclock, I'll get the incredibly annoying "no boot media inserted" message.

In bios the SSD (which is where w7 is installed) is selected as first boot device and HDD #1, but when i try and boot from it, I get the message everytime.

Also I've noticed if I unplug either of the storage drives at the moment, my system won't boot at all - this makes me think that somehow the boot sector has moved onto one or both of these storage drives? My PC only boots when i select the 320GB WD as the main drive, even though it only has movies on it (partitioned into 2).

I've attached a screenshot of my disk manager, can anyone explain why I may be getting this issue? (Never been great with HDD's and boot sectors etc)

The one marked Disk 1 is the SSD that the OS is installed on - I'm also definitely running on the SSD because of how responsive my system is.

Help please? :D <3

unplug your storage hdd's,then boot from your windows dvd disc and do a startup repair,do it a few times then add in the storage hdd's,should fix it

It might have stored some of the boot record onto the storage drives, that's why its not booting if you remove one

It's always best to remove all other drives apart from the one you wanna install windows on,then once windows has installed plug back in the other drives

Looks that way. System Reserved is on disk 0, where as it should be on disk 1.

Now..I installed my ssd first. Installed OS. Then connected up the other hard drives after.
My System Reserved is also on Disk 0 Same on other PC as has always been on all my PC's.
So Why should it be on Disk 1 ???? Got no probs this way at this time..

OK--I see he has his C: on disk 1....Brain connects now. lol
