Odd BSODs

Recently, while playing Oblivion, my screen keeps going blank and getting no signal to monitor. A restart normally fixes it and it's fine afterwards. Today the same thing happened, except when I restarted I got the 'Display adaptor error' BIOS beep (1 long, 3 short) and it wouldn't boot. Left it for about 5 minutes, tried it again and it was fine. These symptoms all say to me, overheating, but I've been logging temps while playing for the last few days and the highest my GPU hits is mid-80s.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Graphics card certainly needs an upgrade, do you reckon that would fix the problem?

Power issue maybe?

Hmm didn't think of that. Although wouldn't that cause problems more regularly and in a wider variety of situations than this. Never had a problem until recently.

This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card. It can also be a motherboard issue.
