Odd car problem

My car had been sat unused for nigh on 5 weeks and when I came to use it it started fine but today the second day of driving it I noticed a small amount of what looks like smoke coming out of the dipstick holder thing when I take it out ? also seems a little down on power but could be my imagination

I suspect this is normal, you're probably just seeing either hot oil vapours coming up the dipstick tube, or during your cars lengthy inactivity some condensation probabaly built up inside the engine and this is just burning off.

Thats pretty much what I assumed it has been raining a lot and been pretty wet and its been sat on soil not concrete so maybe your right!

Any loss of coolant? I also think it's probably down to condensation as it's been left sitting there for a long time. As for the lack in power, it could be down to the old fuel in the tank!

The 2.7l V6s in the Rover 800s (which I think yours is) are pretty bullet proof Honda units

wish mine was the 2.7 v6 they are only in the 827s (slightly earlier) I have a 96 2 litre turbo with the T series engine in, It is well renowned as a pretty solid engine though and again I thought the age of the fuel might be effecting it nice to have my suspicions confirmed

At least you don't have the Mk1 2.5l KV6!
