Odd cold-boot issue

Hi folks,
my rig has developed a strange fault over the last few days...
On a cold boot, everything spins up for a few seconds, then the system turns itself off again.
Pressing the power button again leads to a normal, trouble-free boot, and the system is stable and runs perfectly. There is no issue on restarts or waking from sleep.

Other info- [email protected] (1.22vcore), Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H mobo with F9 BIOS. Xenta (yeah, I know...) 900W PSU.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Wondering whether it's mobo, PSU or BIOS at fault...

EDIT- I have reset the BIOS to defaults and the issue is still present!

You sure you reset the CMOS correctly? Sometime the battery needs pulling.

edit- just seen the power supply. Replace it. Irrespective of whether it is a causal factor or not if it does go pop it may take out other components with it.

SOLVED! (Finally...)

My mobo is dual-BIOS, seems the primary BIOS got corrupted somehow, the shutdowns were the board switching to the backup chip.
Still, got a shiny new EVGA G2 PSU in there now, happy days.

Schoolboy error though; should've spotted that sooner!
