Odd controller/gaming habits

I remember when Doom was first out I used to play with my hands crossed over as I am severely left handed (some kind of damage as a baby, or pre birth means I don't have full control over my right hand) so I would have my left fingers moving, little finger to shoot and my right hand on space for doors.

How do you chuck grenades accurately? Bumper jumper is great as your shoot, nade, melee and jump can all be pressed simultaneously without losing control of your aiming stick.

I've never really had much trouble aiming with grenades, I usually add a bit of a lead like you would when sniping and I stick more than my fair share. I'll have to give bumper jumper a go when I'm next on and see if my game improves.

Never understood why folk invert the y axis, may need to give this a try,

my mate can't play a game without doing so.

console inverted, pc not

also used to hold the n64 controller weirdly. To hold the thumb stick, I would have it inbetween my thumb and finger, much like a pencil (but only thumb and one other finger not 2). My little fingers support my hands on both sides! made precision aiming much much easier.

I invert the axis cause it's basically a joystick, so it should be inverted.

Who in god's mane pulls the joystick back to point the plane down?

people say it's weird that for most games I hold my playstation controllers with my right thumb on X and my index finger hooked over so it can jab about the other 3 buttons. sometimes I just don't want to let go of X.

I think that's part of the reason I don't like the Xbox controller as well. It's much thicker and harder to get the index finger over.

Inverting makes sense, because pulling the stick back mimicks the tilting back of your neck when you look up at something.

If you wanted to force someone to look at an aeroplane in the sky, you would grab their head and pull it backwards. You wouldn't push it forwards, because then they would be looking at the ground..

This is my thinking and why it seems natural to me.

That's my thinking too, most of my friends are inverters, we're usually shocked to hear someone is a non-inverter. And Rebelius that is a little odd.

I used to have hands either side of the N64 controller, not one in the middle

this might have been normal but i hadnt seen anyone else do it

in all fps games (pc) i map Z to left and X to right (obv i use the mouse most of the time)

but it's handy for things like spiral stair cases in CS/tfc :)

Not an odd habit but im so use to wired controllers i do the little flick thing before i pass the controller on, cant get use to the face everything is wireless these days
